For the first time in the world, a shopping mall in Western Australia used an energy experiment to replace the glass at the entrance to its shopping center with a completely transparent solar power plant. This is a partnership between Australia's retail real estate giant Vicinity Centres and technology company ClearVue Technology, which replaces the glass door of the Warwick Grove shopping center with 26 transparent solar panels that generate 1 megawatt-hours of electricity per year.

According to ClearVue, this is the first commercial installation of fully transparent solar power glass in the world. A spokesperson said, "Although there are other products, they are usually optically distorted and basically not yet commercially viable," said a ClearVue spokesperson.
