What is CCC certification in China ?

The CCC certification is called the "compulsory product certification system." It is a product conformity assessment system for the Chinese government to protect consumer's personal safety and national security, strengthen product quality management, and implement it in accordance with laws and regulations. The so-called CCC certification is China's mandatory product certification system, the English name China Compulsory Certification, the English abbreviation CCC.

CCC certification is short for China's compulsory product certification. The main contents are summarized in the following aspects:

(1) In accordance with relevant WTO agreements and international rules, the state implements a unified compulsory product certification system for products that involve human health and safety, animal and plant life safety and health, and environmental protection and public safety. The National Certification and Accreditation Regulatory Commission is responsible for the management and organization of the national mandatory product certification system.

(2) The main features of the national mandatory product certification system are that the country publishes a unified catalogue, determines the uniform applicable national standards, technical rules, and implementation procedures, formulates a unified logo, and stipulates a unified charging standard. All products listed in the compulsory product certification list must be certified by the certification body designated by the state, and relevant certificates and certification marks must be issued before they can be shipped, imported, sold, and used in the business service place.

(III) According to China's WTO commitments and the principle of embodying national treatment, there were 138 products covered by the original two systems. The “Catalogue” announced this time deleted the medical ultrasonic diagnostic and therapeutic equipment originally included in the compulsory certification management, etc. 16 kinds of products, including 10 types of safety glass for construction, were added, and a total of 132 kinds of compulsory certification products actually listed in the Catalogue.

(d) The country uses a unified mark for mandatory product certification. The new national mandatory certification mark name is "China Compulsory Certification", the English name is "China Compulsory Certification", the English abbreviation can be abbreviated as "CCC" mark. After the implementation of China's compulsory certification mark, it will replace the original "Great Wall" logo and "CCIB" logo.

(5) The state shall uniformly determine the compulsory product certification fees and standards. The formulation of new fees and charges will be based on the principle of non-profit and national treatment, and comprehensive consideration will be given to the current situation of charges and reference will be made to similar foreign accreditation charges and charges.

(6) The compulsory product certification system was implemented on August 1, 2002, and the relevant certification body formally began accepting applications. The original product safety certification system and import safety quality licensing system have been abolished since August 1, 2003.

CCC certification mark

The CCC logo is usually attached to the surface of the product or molded on the product. A closer look will reveal multiple elliptical “CCC” marks. Each CCC logo has a random code behind it. Each random code has a corresponding manufacturer and product. When issuing the mandatory product certification mark, the certification mark issuance management center has entered the product corresponding to the code into a computer database, and the consumers can perform coding inquiries through the National Quality Certification Center.
