Glass and glass material prices fluctuate in May 2019

The US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) recently announced a new PPI index (production price index). The price of glass and glass materials in May 2019 has risen and fallen, but the price has increased compared with the same period last year.

According to data released by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the PPI index for flat glass products in May rose 0.1% from April and 0.7% from the same period last year.

The PPI index for flat glass manufacturing fell by 0.2% in May, but increased by 1.1% from last year.

The price of metal-processed products rose by 0.3% in May after a 1.1% decline in April. In the bulk commodity classification, the PPI index for metal-processed products rose by 2.8% from last year. The index for decorative and construction metals fell by 0.1% in May, but rose 3.2% from the same period last year.

The PPI index for metal window products rose by 0.4% in May, an increase of 9.6% compared to the same period last year. The metal door frame's PPI index fell by 0.2%, but was up 5.1% from the same period last year.

Construction hardware products, including accessories for glass and glass materials, remained unchanged in April and April, but overall were 3.4% higher than the same period last year.
